I am an artist and engineer, but I’ve spent most of my life believing that I had to choose between one or the other.
I have loved creating art my whole life. I was taught by Cincinnati local Merlene Schain for 8 years, but ultimately I found myself in school to become a Mechanical Engineer. I was told I had to choose between art and engineering so many times, but I continued to figure out how how to do both. I didn’t draw or paint much in college (except for an art for non-art majors class), but after graduating and entering the corporate world, I felt the pull back to art, so I started painting again and sharing my work with friends and family. Since 2020, I have created a business painting at weddings and in my studio while also working a full time engineering job.
In 2024, my beautiful daughter was born and my priorities shifted. I transitioned to working part time as a contract engineer, while being the primary childcare for my daughter, and continuing to build my art business. I am extremely grateful for my art collectors who made this transition possible! I have gained a whole new perspective through motherhood which has given me inspiration for my current artwork.
It is such an honor to help people preserve their memories into paintings. My art is inspired by nature and family. I believe it is important to surround yourself with beauty and joyful memories, and a painting is a perfect way to incorporate both into your home, bringing wonder to the everyday.
