A Letter to Your Fiancé

A Letter to your fiancé who is hesitant to book a live wedding painter:

I know it’s expensive, but you will have this painting for the rest of your lives to remember your marriage and the feeling of your wedding day! You are also paying for the on-site entertainment. So basically it’s a two for one deal! A live wedding painting is both entertainment for your guests and an incredible keepsake to remind you of your special day.

So why not just commission a painting from a photograph? This is totally an option, and an option that I offer. It is less expensive than a live painting, but I am so much more constrained by photo references provided after the wedding. I am usually only provided 2 or 3 photos. I may not be able to see behind guests’ heads or see the true color of the bridesmaids dresses with photos. On site I am taking 25+ photos and videos and combining them into one painting. Many of them are awful photos, but they help create an incredible painting! I am using all of this information to create a balanced and interesting composition.

Another reason live wedding paintings are so special is because I am able to add or subtract things from real life into the painting. For example, I don’t need to paint all the guests, I can paint just the ones who mean the most to you, like your parents. Or I can add in your dog who couldn’t be at the wedding. I have even added in a groomsman who missed the wedding due to illness. I like to say that painting is the original Photoshop.

Ok so why this girl instead of any other wedding painter? I want you to book me because you connect with my painting style. I am realistic and proportional, and love to capture beautiful architecture and landscapes. I will include any loved ones that you want in the painting, capturing their likeness but not their faces. I offer a unique style because I work exclusively in watercolor. I love how watercolor is softer, lighter, and more whimsical than acrylic or oil. I’m happy to hop on a call to answer any questions you have about my process!

Lastly, having a live wedding painter will make your fiancée really happy :)

Wishing you all the best for your wedding day!
